Edmisten Cemetery
Boone, Watauga County, North Carolina

361218 N Dale Street, Boone NC 28607

Lat: 36° 12' 18"N, Lon: 81° 39' 28"W

Contributed by Carl W Dykes, Nov 15, 2006 [cwdykes@charter.net]. Total records = 28.

To reach this Edmisten Cemetery from Boone, at the intersection of US Hwy 321 with US Hwy 221, take the Hwy 221 south about a mile, then left onto Shadowline Drive, which turns into Dale Street when you cross State Farm Road. Cemetery is on the left or north side of Dale Street.

This cemetery is in good condition. History and ownership is unknown, but it appears to be a family cemetery. The first listed burial was in 1875 and it is still being used for burials occasionally.

No contact information is available. Some information was from North Carolina war records.

I completed reading and transcribing this cemetery from all existing and legible headstones and markers on Oct 30, 2006.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
