From the intersection of Highway 370 and 25th Street, go .5 miles south on 25th street until you reach Joann Ave. Turn onto Joann Ave. and go .15 west until you reach 25th Avenue Circle. Turn onto 25th Avenue Circle and go north .15 miles. The cemetery is on the east side of the road.

A small family that is in good shape. In 1859, when Mrs. Tunison died, her husband decided to buried in the field on the farm they owned. In 1890, he died and was buried besides his wife. The farm and the cemetery was sold in 1891 to settle the estate.

I started visiting the little cemetery in February 1984. I did a lot of clean up work by getting rid of the junk that people threw in the burial site. At the time the property belonged to the Bellevue Public Schools with the intention of building a middle school there. In the mid 1990s the school district spent $7,000 cleaning, putting in bushes, and replacing the two old headstones with a new granite headstone. Today, the little cemetery sits in a housing development called Castle Ridge.

I walked and read this cemetery on Aug 08, 2009.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
