Egbert St is in the heart of the small town of Pemberton off the Pemberton-Browns Mills Rd. This cemetery is next to the Pemberton Police Station.
This cemetery is owned and maintained by the Odd Fellows, who started it in about 1900. It is well taken care of and decorated with the military honors to all the members who have gave there life to protect our country.
Most of the tombstones are in very good shape but of course there are a few that have worn down due to the weather elements There are 2,519 names that were legible with their dates intact. On the sorry side, there were 11 names that were illegible.
Details about the cemetery is very simple. There is a Left side and a Right side with equal properties with length and width. All the tombstones are in parellel rows so it is easy to find an individual tombstone. Every name in my list has it's own axis in relationship with the cemetery. For example, James Parker is on L28, J. Count the rows starting from 1 up to 28 and follow on the left side. The tricky part is the "J". Every row does not have an A, B,C, etc., but since a "J" would be in the middle of the alphabet, so a "J" would be in the middle of the headstone row. But if that is confusing, the number of the row will give you a good enough start to search down the row.All the efforts were done by April & Wayne Bird and with myself, on the dates of Jun 29 thru Jul 06 in the year of 2003. Work in progress
