Swing Cemetery
Fairton, Cumberland County, New Jersey

Schoolhouse Rd & Backneck Rd, Fairton NJ 08320

Lat: 39° 22' 25"N, Lon: 75° 18' 31"W

Contributed by Barbara McCormick, Nov 14, 2005 [geneslady@ec.rr.com]. Total records = 17.

Take Back Neck Road west bound from Fairton for about 4 miles. Cemetery is at the crossroads with Schoolhouse Road which is across the road from Brickhouse Lane.

This cemetery was founded in 1680. Judging from the remaining tombstones there are many illegible, hidden or missing markers and stones.

When I visited this cemetery in May, I wrote down everything that I could find that was readable. People were cleaning up the area while I was there, so hopefully my next visit will unveil more stones.

This includes all existing and legible stone or marker readings as of May 2005.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
