It is located on 64-66 Main Street. The nearest cross street is Thomas Street in South River NJ.

The Old School Baptist Church was built in 1805. A cemetery was established behind the church and the first burial took place in 1810.

This cemetery was the principle burial ground in the village of South River (known at that time as Washington Twp) until Washington Monumental Cemetery was established.

Both the church and cemetery are now maintained by the township.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
