This cemetery is located on US Hwy 6, just east of Brookfield (Slate Hill) on the north side of the highway.

This cemetery was located to the rear and side of the church. The church was one of the oldest churches in Orange County, meaning the cemetery also was very old. Cemetery was in terrible condition in 1930, with thick brush and poison ivy, and many of the stones have sunken into the ground.

"The writer (Barber) had been advised that this cemetery is full of graves, but many of the graves have either sunken into the ground, or have fallen to the ground and are now covered by the soil."

According to other sources "This cemetery was owned and maintained by the Primitive Baptist Church of Brookfield (Slate Hill) also known as Old School Baptist Church of Brookfield (Slate Hill)."

I have transcribed from a work done by Gertrude A. Barber, found in Graveyard Inscriptions of Orange County, NY, Vol. 1-2, 1930, New York. The cemetery was not being used at the time of this transcription, nor has it been used for many years.
