Maimonides Cemetery is a Jewish burial ground owned and operated by Maimonides Benevolent Society.
HIstory
Maimonides Benevolent Society was established in 1853 by Jewish immigrants in New York. The society recognized the need for a Jewish Cemetery and purchased burial grounds for members and future generations. This became Maimonides Cemetery, in Brooklyn, New York. To meet continuing growth, eventually more land was purchased in Elmont.
