Cemetery History
Trinity Methodist Cemetery served the Methodist Church located next to it. The Methodist Church was built in 1858 on the same site as the former Baptist Church. The Baptist Church building was erected in 1747, but was torn down in 1847. Baptist Church members used the Old Baptist Cemetery located directly across the road from this cemetery.
The Methodist congregation that built the Trinity Methodist Church building in 1858 originally met at an older church in Middle Island, about 2 miles to the east. They dismantled their old church building to build the new one here in Coram. The Old Methodist Cemetery still remains in Middle Island.
Today, Trinity Methodist Cemetery continues to be owned by the Methodist Church, "Trinity United Methodist Church".
