At the intersection of US 250 and SR 151, go east on SR 151 to Bowerston, pass the entrance to Bowerston and on SR 151 go over the railroad tracks to Penn Street on the north side of SR 151, turn onto Penn Street and go to the intersection of Penn Street and State Street, turn onto State Street and go about one half mile to cemetery of east side of said street.

The north line of Longview Cemetery is the north line of Harrison County. Carroll County is on the other side.

Before Longview Cemetery, it was known as the German Lutheran Church Cemetery in 1889 located in the Village of Bowerton, Harrison County, Ohio. John Easterday donated part of his land for the uses of the cemetery.

In 1919 the cemetery was turn over the Monroe Township Trustees and then to the Village of Bowerston. The cemetery is maintained and operated by the Village of Bowerston today. The condition of the cemetery is good.

There is also a chapel located in the cemetery with a list of all the names and a layout map for location. Additional information can be acquired from the Mayor of Bowerston.

I have transcribed all known and visible burials to date of submission.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
