From Altus take Highway 62 west for about 4½ miles. Turn South on Highway 6 toward Olustee, for 3 miles. At the sign turn right or west onto Prairie Hill Road and continue for 7 miles. The cemetery is on the North side of the road.

This cemetery was established in 1908 and is still being used. It is next to the Prairie Hill Baptist Church in rural Jackson County.

Prairie Hill cemetery is in two sections. The larger section is right on the road, the other section is north of the church building and north of the cemetery which is on the road and is visible from the road.

This is a well kept cemetery and is larger than it appears at first sight. There are approximately 50 markers without names.

I surveyed and transcribed this cemetery in the summer of 2003.
