To reach this cemetery from the junction of Hwy 211 and SE Eagle Creek Road, go east to the first road to the right, Eagle Nest, just past the feed store. Follow the road across Goose Creek, up the hill and it is on the right at the top of the hill. It is surrounded by a chain link fence.

The Philip Foster Cemetery address is listed as Tax Lot 2600, 0.78 acres and is part of Philip Foster DLC 39. It is maintained by the Estacada Cemetery District.

Philip Foster was an original settler in Eagle Creek in 1847 and was partner with Samuel Barlow on the Barlow Road, a part of the Oregon Trail. The oldest tombstone is 1860. However, local legend is that at least 3 Barlow Road emigrants died at Eagle Creek and were buried here prior to 1860.

Information was compiled from actual tombstone inscriptions, census records, family genealogy, obituaries, death certificates. This cemetery was read during 2004 and all research was completed by May 2005. It is in good condition as it is part of the Estacada Cemetery Assocation which maintains it. It is an open cemetery but actually not used much except for my particular family (Fosters and Burnetts).
