This cemetery is just south of the town of Utahville, on the west side of Hwy 865.

About 1822 the Baptists organized a church at Mount Pleasant (now Utahville) They named it Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. As early sAs 1830 the community began use of the grounds adjacent to the church as a free 'Public Burial Ground.'

Charter of Incorporation of the Utahville Cemetery Company, Sep 17, 1886: Citizens held a meeting and selected cemetery committee to take action to preserve graveyard May 26, 1909. Application for Charter filed Feb 07, 1916, advertised Mar 11, 1916.

There were a few unreadable infant burials we found. This one is almost unidentifiable, (Infant, d. 28 Jul 1851, s/o C. & E. J.)

Eileen Beers, Trina Beers and I walked and transcribed this record on Aug 11, 2002. It contains all existing and legible burial markers.
