Valley Chapel Cemetery
Jackson Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania

Lat: 39° 49' 49"N, Lon: 80° 20' 01"W

Contributed by Brad Jarvis, Nov 29, 2008, last edited Jul 04, 2009 [forza@windstream.net]. Total records = 79.

From Waynesburg follow Route 21 West approximately 6.5 miles through the town of Rogersville and to a blinking yellow light. Turn left onto Route 18 South and travel 4.6 miles. The cemetery will be on the left side of the road across a small stream. There is a place to park and bridge to walk across to access the cemetery. Valley Chapel Church is directly across the road from the cemetery.

The cemetery is in good condition and is maintained on a regular basis. I found two illegible markers and one fieldstone marker. Burials still occur here, although infrequently. The last was in 2005.

I walked the cemetery on Oct 26, 2008. This transcription is complete and includes all existing stones. I also have digital photographs of all the stones as well as many views of the cemetery itself and would share them with anyone interested.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
