Cole Family Cemetery
Lynchburg, Lee County, South Carolina

Lat: 34° 04' 17"N, Lon: 80° 03' 14"W

Contributed by Randolph A. Cole, Mar 14, 2004 [rnccole@etgs.com]. Total records = 70.

In Lynchburg take Hwy 76 northeast for about one mile. The cemetery is about one hundred yards off Hwy. 76 in wooded area just pass Mills Rd. on the right side of hwy.

Cemetery is located on land owned by Ms. Cibel Cribbs, 40 W. Willow Grove Rd. Lynchburg, SC. There are seven marked graves and it is believed to have a number of unmarked graves.

This is a family Cemetery used by descendants of John Cole Sr. who settled there in 1790. It is now on private land, not accepting burials and is in poor condition. I fear it will be lost for ever if not recorded and mantained.

I did a walk through survey in Oct. 2003. Took pictures and recorded dates on markers, and also referenced information from family genealogy records.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
