To reach cemetery from Hwy 37, drive east on Houston Street for about 1mi, turn right or south onto Palmetto Ave and cemetery will be at the intersection with E Crockett St.
This cemetery was originally established by a Jewish burial society. After Agudas Achim Congregation was organized, this became the burial place for their church. Judging from the burials, it was established in about 1889. The cemetery is no longer open for new burials. It is only used for previously purchased burial sites.
The cemetery is in fairly good condition and well maintained. I found a few broken headstones and a few are hard to read without getting close. Many of the stones were also written in Hebrew.
I walked and hand record the cemetery on Apr 11, 2009. This includes all existing and legible stones and markers at that time.
