From Thornton go north on FM 1246. Turn left on LCR 656 and go to LCR 662 and turn right. The cemetery is .2 mile on your right and visible from road.

William Williams "Billie" Gunter (1861-1940) came to Limestone Co., TX with his parents after the Civil War. He and his wife, Laura E. Williams (1868-1937), had 13 children. Their infant son, Evan, was the first burial in 1893. Billie, Laura, and 8 of their children are buried in this cemetery. The Gunter families were very active in the community. The Gunter Cemetery is well maintained and is still accepting burials.
