La Salle Cemetery is currently managed by LaSalle Cemetery Associates, in Groesbeck, TX.

History

The town of La Salle was settled in the 1840s, and boasted its own post office, three churches, a general store, corn mill and 50 residents. La Salle saw its demise coming when the Trinity and Brazos Valley Railway bypassed the town by three miles in 1906. Its post office discontinued in 1908, with mail routed to Mexia. La Salle reached its height in population in the 1930s at 72, dropping to 20 by the early 1940s. Its community's school was consolidated with the Groesbeck Independent School District in 1949. By the 1980s only the church and cemetery remained at the site.
