Booker Cemetery (Woodside Cemetery)
Cumberland, Cumberland County, Virginia

Lat: 37° 27' 23"N, Lon: 78° 14' 02"W

Beginning at Cumberland Courthouse proceed east from Rt 60 at Cumberland Courthouse down Rt 600 to Rt 642. Go right/west on Rt 642 to Rt 641. Go left/south to Rt 641 approximately 1/2 mile. Cemetery is on the left/east side of Rt 641.

The cemetery is walled, gated, & marked as "Booker Cemetery". It is situated on the old Woodside land, which was the home of Revolutionary War Sgt Edward Booker and wife Edith Cobb Anderson.

There are many unmarked graves within walls, and many slaves buried outside walls and all unmarked. Edward Booker & wife Edith are likely buried here.

I walked this cemetery in 2004. This includes all existing and legible markers and stones at that time. Cemetery was in good condition.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
