To reach this cemetery from the town of Glendale drive south on State Hwy 156 for about one mile. The Willis Cemetery will be about 1/4 mile after the Glendale National Cemetery on the east side of the road.

The cemetery is owned and maintained by the staff and congregation of the Willis United Methodist Church. Judging from the dates on the listed stones, this cemetery dates back to about 1873, and is still in use today.

The Nelson family stones included here are actually located directly across the road from the church in a wooded area and separate from the other stones. There are a few Confederate soldiers buried here.

I walked the cemetery with my parents in August of 2006 and I made the transcription from photos taken by my mother, Criss Faison, and from handwritten notes regarding some of the less legible stones.
