The cemetery is located 1/2 mi south of Shanghai VA, in a rural agricultural area on the east side of Route 14, between Lombardy Rd. and Tastine Rd. The nearest larger town is West Point.

The cemetery is in the churchyard of the "Old Church." In fact it nearly surrounds the church building! The cemetery is still in use and appears to be very well maintained, at the present time, by a Methodist Church.

There are two large, flat slabs in front of the church which have weathered to the point of being illegible, and approximately 10 small stones surrounding the markers for Arillous and Maggie Carter which are either unmarked or illegible.

I have transcribed from photos taken by my mother Criss Faison and I in late Nov of 2004. To the best of our knowledge it contains all the marked graves present at that time. Information acquired from sexton files, for those where there is no marker, have an asterisk * following the entry.
