To reach cemetery from Roseland, drive northwest onto Hwy 655 for 0.70 miles. Turn right or northeast onto Patrick Henry Hwy and continue for 2 miles. Cemetery is on west or left side of highway.

This cemetery is owned and well maintained by the Jonesboro Baptist Church. The cemetery was established in the mid 1800s. The cemetery holds many past members of Jonesboro, but is now separate and others are buried there, including many who died when hurricane Camille went through in 1969. At present, Mary Evans is in charge of the cemetery records, and is a member of Jonesboro.

The cemetery is very well cared for by people whose families are buried there. In the spring, fields of daffodils and other spring flowers make the cemetery like a park. Relatives and loving friends continually make the stones beautiful with the flowers and remembrances. It is a place on top of a hill that is quiet and peaceful and you can tell they are not forgotten.

This is a complete transcription of the cemetery, which compiled from church records and photographing all tombstones. This includes all existing and legible stones and markers. I finished transcribing on Dec 15, 2011.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
