Mount Olive is located approximately five minutes west of where Fayette, Nicholas, and Clay counties meet (Dixie). Depending on where the person is coming from, the cemetery is on the opposite side of the state penitentiary. The cemetery is ten miles from the town of Montgomery and ten miles from the town of Gauley Bridge.

Wiseman Cemetery is not difficult to get to. Those interested in visiting can drive up the dirt road during the spring and summer. For autumn or winter, it is best to park at the bottom of the dirt road and walk up.

The cemetery was named after the Wiseman family, who once owned the property where the cemetery now lies.

This transcription includes all existing and legible markers plus some unmarked. There are many unknown graves, only marked with rocks or not marker at all. I walked and read this cemetery in the fall of 2004. It includes burials up to Dec 09, 2004.
