Take Rt. 50 East out of Parkersburg for about 15 miles. Turn left onto Rt. 31/Deerwalk Exit. Follow Rt. 31 for about 4 miles to Narrow Gage Road. The Freedom Freewill Baptist Church sets just to the left. Travel about � mile up Narrow Gage Road (a gravel road) always bearing to the right. The Cemetery sets up at the top of the hill at the end of the road.

The property was once owned by the Whitlatch family. Edward Whitlatch donated the land to the church for the cemetery. The church was called Herndon Chapel at that time. It is now the Freedom Freewill Baptist. This cemetery is still active and well maintained.

In addition to the transcription, there are 15 graves that are either unmarked or marked only with rocks or fieldstones.

This is a complete reading of all existing headstones when I walked and transcribed this cemetery on Mar 14, 2002.
