Take Rt. 14 South out of Parkersburg. Turn right onto Sams Creek Road. Follow Sams Creek Road for about a mile to Badgley Fork Road. Turn right onto Badgley Fork Road. Follow Badgley Fork to the white house on the right, at the top of the hill. The cemetery is located on a rise at the end of the field behind the house.

This is a private family cemetery. The property was originally owned by Matthew Mattics, but is now owned by his grandson, Norman Ruble. You will need to get permission from Mr. Ruble to visit this cemetery. The cemetery has not been used since the early 1900's, but is maintained by Mr. Ruble. It contains three graves, only one of which is marked. The details on the unmarked graves were supplied to me by Mr. Ruble.

I visited this cemetery on Jul 13, 2003.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
