Michigan Cemetery Records
Michigan is a state located in the Great Lakes and Midwestern regions of the United States. The state is known for its unique mix of urban and rural landscapes, vibrant culture, and rich history. One aspect of Michigan's history that is often overlooked but highly significant is its cemetery records.
Michigan's cemeteries are filled with the final resting places of many notable figures, including politicians, soldiers, and cultural icons. These cemeteries also serve as a vital resource for genealogists and historians looking to trace their family histories or the history of the state.
The Michigan Cemetery Records Project is an ongoing effort to document and preserve the burial records of the state's cemeteries. The project is a collaboration between the Michigan Genealogical Council and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The records collected include burial location, dates, and any other available information, such as the names of family members buried nearby.
Cemetery records published here were acquired from Michigan cemeteries, churches, municipalities, associations and genealogists specifically for family history and local history research.
