Quincy Cemetery

Total records = 1,871.
The Quincy Cemetery is on the north side of SR 28 about 1/2 mile
west of the intersection with SR 181.
This cemetery is owned by Quincy Cemetery District #1, and operates
under an appointed board of commisioners. It is about 2½
acres in size, and appears to have plenty of room for growth,
especially on the east side. The cemetery is well maintained.
All cemetery books have been kept at the cemetery in the position
of the cemetery caretaker.
I used a digital camera to read this and came up with my own
way of dividing it into sections. The main center section has
about half of the burials. The cemetery is in a rectangular shape,
about one block wide and three blocks long. The west side runs
the full length, then the other two have a driveway between them.
At this time these are all of the existing and legible headstones,
plus a few which came from an older reading of cemetery records.
I walked and read this cemetery on Jun 26, 2004, using
a digital camera. I have a photo of all existing and legible stones
or markers. It is evident there are many missing here. If anyone
knows of a name I am missing, or an error I have made, please contact
me.
