Cemetery History
This large burial ground actually encompasses three cemeteries: Grace Anglican Church Cemetery, the Sutton Legion's military cemetery and the ecumenical Fairmount Cemetery. As per the informative plaque at the main entrance, this cemetery opened in 1855 and replaced Sutton's first cemetery in Sutton Flats. The cemetery is well maintained with paved lanes and two entrances.
Cemetery Records
Records below were transcribed from tombstone inscriptions and church records by Leslie and Susan Nutbrown during a visit to the cemetery in 2016.
