brome county quebec cemetery records

The historical county of Brome is located in the Eastern Townships region of Quebec, Canada. Originally known as the Township of Brome, it was established in 1798 and named after Brome, a village in East Sussex, England. The area was primarily settled by Loyalists who had fled the United States during the American Revolution. Today, the county is home to several small communities, including Brome Lake, Knowlton, and West Brome.

The county of Brome has a rich history, which is reflected in its many cemeteries. These burial grounds provide a glimpse into the lives of the early settlers who lived and died in the region. Many of the cemeteries date back to the 19th century and are home to ornate tombstones and monuments that showcase the Victorian-era style of the time.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
