Driving Directions
From downtown Magog at the North end of Lake Memphremagog take Pine Street (rue des Pins). The cemetery is on the left at the top of the hill. The Catholic cemetery is directly across the street. If the main gate is not open then you will have to park along the road and enter by a small gate at the top.
Cemetery History
This is a large cemetery as Magog is the second largest city in the Eastern Townships. Some headstones were transferred here in 1977 from the old Union Cemetery. They can be found at the back near the shed. Dates range from the early 1800s to the present and it is used today.
The cemetery is well maintained and there is a nice covered sitting area and paved lanes. There is also a military section close to the sitting area. It is a very scenic resting place as the lake and mountains can be seen in the distance.
Cemetery Records
Records linked below were transcribed by Leslie and Susan Nutbrown from tombstone inscriptions during an initial visit to the cemetery in May of 2005, with a subsequent visit in 2018.
