Rexford-Judd Cemetery
Judds Point, Stanstead County, Quebec
Contributed by Leslie Nutbrown, Nov 14, 2007 . Total records = 3.
From Magog take the Magog-Georgeville Road. This old burial ground is located in a grove of trees in the middle of a field on property #3406 Georgeville Road. This will be on the right side of the road heading south.
As far as I know this is the second oldest cemetery in the region, dating from 1807. It contains three old slate stones which are surprisingly strong and sturdy after 200 years and the writing is quite legible. It seems plausible that other family members are interred here as well. The cemetery is on land presently owned by Derek Price.
One should check with the owners before trying to find the cemetery as it is abandoned and overgrown at the present time.
Local historians John Boynton and John Scott accompanied me to this cemetery on Nov 13, 2007 and pointed out that Hawkins Judd was born in Watertown, Connecticut in 1765, son of Ebenezer and Mary (Hawkins) Judd.
