Grout Township Cemetery
Gladwin County, Michigan

Take M-61 west from Gladwin, to McCulloch Rd. and turn south. Go approximately two and one half miles to Gedney Road and turn west. The cemetery is about three quarters of a mile down on the south side.

Grout at one time was a stage coach stop. Now it consists of farms, several abandoned school buildings, and the cemetery, which is now maintained by the Township and has been renamed. It sits in an area surrounded by farms.

Grout Township Cemetery is quite an interesting cemetery. It is divided into two sides by a path through the middle. The back half is quite old with some markers from the 1800s, and many upright stones. The front half is much newer and flatter, with flat markers. The older half has many mature trees, some of which have grown right into the markers. The grass seems to be kept cut, but this cemetery is not very well kept. The sign is unreadable and broken. The front facing the road is overgrown with weeds.

This cemetery was walked and transcribed July 16th to 18th, 2004, by Timothy Kemp and Victoria Warren in memory of Tehra Partaka. There is ample room for future burials. This is a listing of all known burials except for three markers which were unreadable.
